چکیده

Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes are a vector of transmission several types diseases, such as filariasis, Japanese encephalitis, and dirofilariasis. Larval control is the key strategy disease programs caused by vectors around world because it can prevent larvae to enter adult stage. Control mosquito that often used chemically controlled. Citrus hystrix natural plant contains chemical compounds have biological activity, flavonoids, carotenoids, limonoids. The present study aimed determine effect citrus leaf extract (Citrus hystrix) on mortality larva quinquefasciatus. method in current was laboratory experimental with design using completely randomized design. research plot carried out rearing quinquefasciatus, manufacture extract, larvicidal material, observation phase after treatment. Extract N-hexane omplet name has high toxicity essential oils, alkaloids, terpenoids, saponins, Limonoids. Optimal concentration extracts leaves lead larval vitro amounted 93.33% 4 hours 4000 ppm. lime vitro.

Larvicidal activity of Lawsonia inermis and Murraya exotica leaves extract on filarial vector, Culex quinquefasciatus

Extensive use of synthetic and chemical insecticides to control mosquitoes result in environment hazards and development of resistance in vector species. This research work is about an alternative mosquito control method that is considered as safe to environment and non-target species and also bio-degradable. Hence an attempt was made to study the larvicidal effect of the extract of Lawsonia in...

Larvicidal potential of Cyathea species against Culex quinquefasciatus

Resistance to insecticides has persuaded researchers to find new methods to control Culex quinquefasciatus proliferation. Plants may be a source of alternative agents for mosquito control due to ever-growing insecticide resistance in mosquito vectors and environmental imbalance caused by synthetic insecticides. The present study was intended to study the larvicidal activity of selected Cyathea ...

insecticide-resistant mosquito Culex quinquefasciatus

Resistance to organophosphates in Culex mosquitoes is typically associated with increased activity of non-specific esterases. The commonest phenotype involves two elevated esterases, A2 and B2, while some strains have elevation of esterase B1 alone. Overexpression of the two B esterase electromorphs is due to gene amplification. Full-length cDNAs coding for amplified esterase B genes from a res...

Larvicidal activity of some plant extracts to larvae of the mosquito Culex quinquefasciatus (Say 1823).

OBJECTIVES AND METHODS Searching for potent plant larvicides, crude aqueous extract of the latex of Uschar (Calotropis procera) and Labakh (Ficus benghalensis) were tested against the fourth instar larvae of the lymphatic filariasis vector Culex quinquefasciatus (Diptera: Culicidae) using the conventional methods recommended by the WHO. Likewise, the toxicity level of Malathion was tested. The ...

Larvicidal Effects of Stem and Fruits of Duranta repens Against the Mosquito Culex quinquefasciatus

In the present study, the larvicidal activity of crude extracts from the stem and fruits, their fractions and fresh fruit juice of Duranta repens were assayed against the larvae of Culex quinquefasciatus. The highest larval mortality was found in chloroform soluble fraction of stem (LC50 = 10.75 ppm in 12 h) and ethanol extract of fruits (LC50 = 8.51 ppm 12 h) of Duranta repens against I instar...
